Elizabeth Cooper

Visiting Researcher, March 2024 - February 2025

Elizabeth currently works as the Deputy Director the Berkeley Existential Risk Initiative. In this she provides research, operations, and planning support to academic groups around the world and collaborates with groups and individuals in x-risk field-building.

At CSER, Elizabeth will work closely with the management team on fundraising, diversity and inclusion, and field-building initiatives. She is also currently working on creating a taxonomy of interventions and projects that seek promote human survival and flourishing. This project seeks to eventually serve as a roadmap for the various ways in which researchers and organizations can attempt to mitigate existential threats or create a positive future for humanity.

In addition to her work at BERI, Elizabeth works in a limited capacity as a consultant for Fit for Purpose, an Africa-focused strategic and technical advisory practice in the health & development space.
